**Urgent care hours are offered for sick visits and are only available by appointment. Walk-in appointments are not available.

At Lone Star Pediatrics, we believe by partnering with our patients families we will provide the best care and environment for children to grow and learn. We like our patients families to be educated about and involved in their childrens physical, emotional and developmental health. We hope to provide a down to earth and informative medical home for our patients and their families.

- Group prenatal meetings are held on the first Wednesday evening of each month at 6:00 p.m. Call 833-7334 for a reservation and come meet Drs. Thorstad, Dudley and Holmes and Nurse Practitioners Gwen Collmann and Jamie Dark.
- HBO is launching a new documentary called "The Weight of the Nation" which puts the focus on the obesity epidemic. The four-part HBO series, premiering Monday and Tuesday May 14 and 15 starting at 8 p.m., showcases all of the factors feeding the public health crisis, and the physical and emotional toll it takes on those suffering. “The series stems from a three-year collaboration between HBO Documentary Films, and health organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Institute of Medicine, the National Institutes of Health, and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.
The initiative approaches the public on all fronts: besides screening Monday’s premiere on HBO.com for free, producers have supplemented the series with 12 short films (such as “Overweight in the Workplace”) posted on YouTube, plus a three-part series for families, a companion book and social media campaign.
