What is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner?
PNP's are registered nurses who have completed a program of nurse practitioner preparation as part of the Masters in Nursing Degree. In addition, many PNP's  decide to seek national certification which evaluates the knowledge and competency to practice as a pediatric nurse practitioner.

What can PNP's do?
A PNP has aquired advanced knowledge and clinical skills in child health care and is able to work as a team member in the ambulatory and acute care setting. A PNP provides a broad range of primary health care services for children from birth to adulthood. The focus of the PNP is wellness, prevention and health promotion. PNP's perform physical examinations, developmental evaluations, sports evaluations and can diagnose and treat common illnesses as well as coordinate care of common chronic illness in children and help families meet thier health needs.
